Weekend Away
Wow, that was it. The legendary YourSurprise weekend away. We left with a group of 166 colleagues and spent a whole weekend together. Cool activities, eating, drinking, having fun and partying. How special to do this together and get to know your colleagues even better. Now we can get ready for Black Friday and Christmas; a busy period that we will rock together! Meet Gerard
Gerard works in the Finance department and spends a lot of his time on the production process. He gives the production team insights in all kinds of performances, for example on quality and efficiency. In his spare time he loves spending time with his family and he loves to play trumpet in an orchestra.
Ready for lift off!
As you know, this week is the very first 'To The Moon Week'. A week designed to make plans for the projects we will be working on over the next six months. We do this because we believe we can achieve more if we think about our future together. We also think it is important to coordinate the ideas we are working on with each other, so that everyone can help each other where necessary. At the end of this week, every group within YourSurprise has formulated Journeys (projects for the next six months), Lift-offs (small goals for the next three months), KPIs (numbers that indicate whether things are going well) and a meeting rhythm (appointments about when you get together as a group). This way, everyone can see from each other what is being worked on and whether we are on the right track to achieve our goals. It is worth mentioning that this is the first time we organised this week. It will not be perfect. For instance, this week we won't manage to organise a good 'demo afternoon' and some groups will not meet this week, but later this month.
To the moon week
This coming week is the first edition of the "To the Moon week." What exactly is the To the Moon Week? The To The Moon Week is the week between two periods, in which we work together as much as possible on the Campus and all ships & groups work together on new plans and goals. Furthermore, the Campus will be decorated in the Moonshot theme and we will make it a valuable week together!
Meet Rink
Rink has been working at YourSurprise on the dutch customer service team since February. As of next week, she has been given the opportunity to also support our international team. The best part of her job is helping people find the ultimate gift. It makes her happy when this is a success! Her day consists of a lot of communication with both the customers and different teams within YourSurprise. Her challenge is to help our customers when something did not go as planned and to make the customer happy in the end. In her spare time you can find Rink around horses. Galloping at the beach or a quiet ride through the forest. She also likes to take a walk with her dog Jura, a real outdoor person. In addition, she is also very busy renovating her house and studying. Not doing anything is not for Rink, but if she takes the time to relax, she likes to sit on a terrace.

Did you know that we have a card rack on every floor? You will find a suitable card for every occasion. Send your loved one a nice card, put a nice surprise card on the desk of your favourite colleague or let someone at home know that you are thinking of them. E-commerce Christmas brainstorm
Summer is not even over yet, but team Ecommerce is already thinking about Christmas. During their meeting they are working on a plan to ensure that we have green figures this Christmas. In the upcoming month, they will carry out research and make an analysis in order to have a plan ready for Christmas for each country. Well done!
Meet Arne, Gerbrand and Wouter!
Gerbrand and Wouter founded YourSurprise in 2005 after dreaming about setting up a company together since childhood, and Arne has since joined them. YourSurprise has grown so much since then, and we moved into our new, large building last year. We're currently building phase 2!
Bistro
When you step inside YourSurprise, you arrive in our Bistro, which is where everyone meets, has lunch, relaxes, drinks coffee, listens to music and uses the slide. We feel it's important to have a place where everyone feels at home and can start and end their work day in a good way.
